9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Hosted Via Zoom March 17 and March 18 (9am to 12pm both days)

A Virtual Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training session offered by the Alberta Council of Disability Services is scheduled for March 17th & March 18th, 2021 (9am to 12pm on both days) via Zoom. Learner materials will be sent to the organization after confirmation of registration. Learners must complete the two sessions and pass the tests to receive their Blue Card. Registration closes on March 9th, 2021 or when full capacity (15 learners ) is reached.

This training is offered virtually via zoom and DOES NOT feature physical restraints. It is ideal for staff who do not require knowledge of restrictive interventions in their de-escalation techniques. This training still meets standards for CET purposes. In light of current guidelines in place due to Covid-19, in-person training is put on hold.

Training covers: Prevention & Deceleration Strategies; Decision-making related to risk associated with crisis behaviour; and Post-vention Approaches.

Cost:

ACDS Members: $52.50 + GST per learner

Non-members: $75 + GST per learner

Registrants will receive a pre-test following confirmation and prior to training to demonstrate their familiarity with aggression and violence related to crisis events. This will help the facilitator get a sense of where learners are at in their understanding. This registration form allows for up to 5 learner per organization registrations. There is a capacity of total of 15 registrants for the entire session.
