Canada-Alberta Job Grant

The Canada-Alberta Job Grant is an employer-driven training program.  This means that employers decide on who gets training and what type of training may be needed for new and existing employees. Employers are required to use a third-party training provider to deliver the formal training either onsite, online or in a classroom setting.  The minimum hours required for a training programs to be eligible has been reduced from 24 hours to 21 hours.  This can be one course or you may bundle them.  Check out the guidelines at:

Foundations Training

This training program was specifically designed for direct service workers in the evolving field of Community Disability Services.  It has been designed to provide a comprehensive orientation to the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed by staff in today’s world. Whether you are a Community Disability Organization, a family member or an individual wanting to start work in the field; we are here to support you as you set out on this learning journey.

Foundations Online Training

Online Foundations is delivered almost strictly via the internet with all of the study materials online. The program is supported by a Facilitator connected via the internet and tests are also taken online. There is also a "real world" component to this course,  referred to as the skills checklist, which must be completed by a Mentor at your organization. It is recommended that Mentors be trained as Tutors. Visit for more details

  • Section One has 5 modules
  • Section Two has 6 modules
  • Section Three has 4 modules
  • Foundations Online has three sections (15 modules) in total
